Pakistani security forces have carried out an operation along the border with Afghanistan. 29 militia members are said to have been killed.
The attacks were directed at hangouts and hideouts for what are called terrorists in the border area. A ground effort was followed by airstrikes.
Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar writes on the X platform that it is a response to a series of attacks against Pakistan. The incident takes place the day after a regional military headquarters in the Pakistani port city of Karachi was attacked and three soldiers were killed.
Pakistan has repeatedly directed attacks against targets in Afghanistan as a result of the conflict that flared up between the countries. The government in Pakistan has, among other things, accused the Afghan Taliban regime of supporting and harboring Pakistani resistance groups.
