Google is always watching you. Turn off these settings now to regain your privacy technology

Many users depend on various Google services, starting from the “Chrome” Internet browser, through the search engine, email, and even the Android system on their phones, and other various services provided by the company.

This is worrying for those concerned about privacy and those looking for their digital security, because using many services provided by one company means that much of your personal data is under Google’s control, which makes it easier for it to track you.

Fortunately, Google allows you to delete the data you keep so that you return to being an anonymous person, and you can do this in several ways, the most prominent of which are:

Delete web browsing data and applications

You can delete the data that Google has recorded regarding your browsing the Internet and your use of various applications on your phone, by going directly to the section responsible for this data in your Google account.

This data includes many details about your actual use of the Internet during the day, from the searches you perform in the search engine to the other services you use.

You can also stop data collection completely and have Google stop tracking you and collecting data about you directly through the same window.

You can do this by following these steps:

Click on your Google account picture, then choose Manage your Google account.

From “Data and Privacy”, click on the Internet and Application Activity option in the window that appears in front of you.

You can disable tracking and choose to automatically delete tracking data.

You can also delete this data manually by clicking the delete button in the window preceding it.

Delete place tracking data

Google actively tracks your location data and records it in your movement history, then reuses this data and displays it to you again if you want to know your route during the past periods.

You can turn off this feature directly from within the Google Activity Center, as well as the ability to delete tracking data directly from the center and choose a time to delete it automatically.

Delete YouTube tracking data

Google also keeps a record of what you have watched and followed on YouTube, and you can delete it directly through Google’s tracking center.

But deleting this data will eventually cause it to be lost in YouTube and the filtering algorithm in your account will malfunction, so you may find a group of suggestions that you do not like on YouTube.

You can delete your YouTube history directly by clicking on the “YouTube History” option and then deleting it.

Turn off personalized ads

Google customizes the ads that appear to you on its various platforms, and you can turn off this feature directly by clicking on the “Data and Privacy” section in your Google account settings.

You must make sure to turn off the personalized ads feature that appears in front of you, so that your data is not used to customize ads.
