Argentine national team coach Lionel Scaloni announced that the team’s star and captain, Lionel Messi, will miss the starting lineup in the next match against Jordan, scheduled for the conclusion of the group stage, with the match starting from the bench.
This decision comes at a time when the “Tango” team officially qualified for the round of 32, after achieving two consecutive victories in the group, where it defeated Algeria by three clean goals, and Austria with two unanswered goals, noting that Messi was responsible for scoring the five goals of Argentina in the previous two matches.

During the press conference for the match, Scaloni began his speech by sending a message of solidarity with the Venezuelan people, expressing his deep sadness about the conditions that Venezuela is witnessing after a devastating earthquake, and stressing his hope that all countries will provide the necessary support to them in light of these difficult circumstances.

Regarding Messi’s technical situation, Scaloni explained: “He will be on the bench in the Jordan match, to allow him the opportunity to participate as a starter in another match,” noting that the technical staff will announce the starting lineup for the rest of the team later tomorrow.
In the context of his analysis of the course of the tournament, the Argentine coach stressed the need to be cautious and adhere to the necessary tactical precautions against any opponent, noting that this edition of the World Cup witnesses a diversity of playing styles adopted by the teams, many of which succeeded in achieving positive results thanks to these trends.
