Train traffic between Gothenburg and Stockholm is halted on Thursday afternoon after a derailment.
One of those affected by the train accident is the actress and artist Siw Malmkvist, 89.
– You become paralyzed by action and think: What the hell am I going to do?
The popular actor and artist Siw Ore twig was on her way from Gothenburg to Stockholm on Thursday afternoon when the train she was on suddenly stopped.
A freight train had derailed further along the route and the SJ train came to a standstill.
– I was in Varberg yesterday for a sing-along. I took the train from Varberg to Gothenburg and then I jumped on this train, and now I’m sitting here in Bollebygd, says Malmkvist.
When Aftonbladet reaches Malmkvist, the train has been stationary for almost an hour.
– Now we are waiting for buses to arrive, but it takes time to collect buses as well, she says.
The replacement buses will take the travelers back to Gothenburg, says Malmkvist.
The train travelers have now had to leave the train and go out onto the platform.
– It is most difficult for those who have children, I think. Little babies crying and scratching.
Siw Malmkvist does not have a special time to fit in Stockholm, but still expresses a certain frustration about the situation.
– It’s just that you become so paralyzed by action. I’m sitting here and don’t know what to do.
But she still seems to be in good spirits out in the 26-degree heat out on the platform.
– It’s warm and delicious, they’re doing the best they can, says Malmkvist.
