Memory master and TV profile Jonas von Essen and girlfriend Jessica have become parents.
But it was a dramatic start to the birth when they were stopped by an unknown man in the middle of the night who turned out to be a police officer.
– He was very harsh and I had to blow and show identification.
In March, the memory master and television profile told Jonas von Essen35, that he and the girlfriend Jessica Ahrling35, would become parents.
– I guess I haven’t really understood it yet. It feels very exciting, like it’s the beginning of a great adventure, he said then to Aftonbladet.
Now they have become parents of a boy who has been named Kalle. On Instagram, Jonas von Essen writes about happiness and that the son was already born two months ago.
When Aftonbladet reaches the new father, he tells how the feelings are going.
– It feels very, very fun. Suddenly you have become a small family. Everything feels so warm, there is so much love and you just want to sit and cuddle with him.
The dramatic start of the birth – was stopped by the police
Jonas von Essen explains that the birth itself went well, but that everything could undeniably have started better.
– It was a bit dramatic at first. We live in Alingsås and would give birth in Borås. We went in when there were a couple of days left, but at the hospital they thought we should go home again. But then it was four o’clock in the morning and we didn’t want to drive all the way home again and therefore thought of taking it to a hotel. But that weekend happened to coincide with the Linnaeus march and all the hotels were fully booked.
They finally got a room at a hostel, but as they parked, a car stopped right behind them.
– I was a bit annoyed because it was the middle of the night. A person got out and came towards us and I tried to lock the car from the inside. But it turned out to be a policeman. Someone had reported me as they thought I was driving so strangely when I stopped on the empty street to call the hotels. The police were very harsh and I had to blow my whistle and show identification. I tried to explain that Jessica was going to give birth and had been given morphine. When the police then understood how it was, he became very nice. He himself had had a baby three weeks earlier and wished us luck and a few days later Kalle arrived.
As a memory master, do you have a trick to remember his name is Kalle?
– Haha! It will probably take a lot for me to forget about it. But I think it’s a grateful name for a baby. You might think he’s as cute as a little Donald Duck when he’s whiny.
Can you sleep at night?
– Yes, but we still get that. We take turns at night. Jessica takes the first half and nurses him and then I take the second half and give him a bottle. Kalle also sleeps very well on my stomach. He is really kind.
Jonas von Essen became known to the public in 2018 when he made it to the finals in “Talang” and he has also become world memory champion twice and answered the million question correctly in “Postcode millionaire”. Jonas von Essen was also in the premiere season of “The Traitors” three years ago.
