VISBY. Today the government made the announcement – the state will become the owner of the company that will build new nuclear power.
But MP’s Daniel Helldén is sure:
– There will be no new nuclear power and we will work on that when we enter government, says the spokesperson.
In SVT’s program “30 minutes”, the mouthpiece hit Daniel Helldén last winter stated that he cannot imagine sitting in a government that builds new nuclear power.
It is the only time that The Green Party drawn a clear red line regarding government involvement and nuclear power – which S wants to see an investment in.
“It doesn’t exist”
On the party’s day in Almedalen, he states that he does not regret the statement and that any nuclear power will not become a reality. This is despite the government’s announcement that it will now become a partner in the nuclear power company Wideberg Kraft, which came shortly after the MP’s press conference.
– The new nuclear power that Ebba Busch talks about – it does not exist here. They talk about signing a contract, but it doesn’t exist. I don’t see it coming.
The red line that you drew then – it is the only time that you have said that you cannot imagine sitting in a government that builds new nuclear power. You have since dodged that question. Do you regret actually drawing a red line there?
– I do not regret what I have said. These are not projects that are sustainable. There will be no new nuclear power and we will work on that when we enter government. We want to see a broad energy agreement where all parties are involved.
You are adamant that you are not in a government that is building new nuclear power.
– I firmly believe that we should have a robust energy system, so we get the fossil-free electricity we need.
“Will more people stay here”
During this morning’s hearing on SVT, Helldén was also asked if immigration will increase with the Green Party’s policy. His answer was that it will grow “a little bit”.
How much is a little bit?
– We don’t put numbers on it. We want to see a humane and legally secure migration policy, we have not seen that with the Tidö parties, on the contrary. They have dedicated themselves to deporting as many as possible from the country. Deportation of teenagers and deportation of skills, everything that causes it and makes integration more difficult – we want to get rid of that. This means that there will be more left here. And then we see that quota refugees, who for example sit in camps, women and children who are incredibly vulnerable – that more should be allowed to come to Sweden. That means there will be more, but we can afford it.
