But instead the team cruised towards Piteå – and were saved by an own goal.

To the Hammarby defense’s surprise, however, the ball did not go over the short line, but instead Julia Olsson appeared and was able to push the ball into the roof of the net with 27 minutes played.

In the final minutes of the match, however, it was another one of the red-clad team that was noted in the goal report – albeit in the wrong column.
This after Hammarby’s Madison Pogarch hit a ball towards the penalty area which Andrea Simonovic then happened to steer into his own goal.
The clash ended 1–1.
“45 minutes that we are throwing away”
The match itself offered several dangerous situations in both directions – not least for the visitors.
Among other things, Hammarby was close to taking the lead in the 21st minute where Mari Nyhagen got into a good position but offered a worse finish.
– I think it’s 45 minutes that we kind of throw away if I’m honest, says the team’s great talent Fanny Peterson at halftime.
In the second half, Bajen was even closer to creating a net, where both Emilie Joramo and Stina Lennartsson had good chances – of which the latter’s finish was saved on the goal line by Piteå’s centre-back shadow Maja Green.
Nevertheless, it was the Piteå players who were responsible for both goals of the match.
Hammarby is now second in the table, after Häcken, when the women’s league goes on summer break until the end of July. For Hammarby, an away match against IFK Norrköping awaits, while Piteå visits Malmö FF.
