Mats Grauers, 80, is re-elected as Frölunda’s chairman.
Coach profile Leif Boork, 76, had opinions about his advanced age.
– Come up with another proposal if you think I’m senile, Grauers said GP.
The exchange of words between the two hockey profiles occurred during Frölunda’s annual meeting.
Grauers was the only candidate for the position of chairman of the club and before he was re-elected, Leif Boork took over as chairman.
– Have you answered yes? Boork said, according to GP.
Grauers said then that he would not have run for re-election otherwise and that this will be his last year.
“You are an old man”
Boork went on to talk about Grauer’s age. He turns 81 in October and the exchange went as follows, according to GP:
– You are still 81, can you really handle this, said Boork.
– Otherwise I would not have accepted, Grauers replied.
– But you don’t know that. You are an old man, said Boork.
– Make another suggestion if you think I’m senile, Grauers replied.
That prompted the selection committee’s chairman, Roger Wier, to break in and put a stop to the exchange of words.
Grauers was then re-elected as chairman for another season.
