When a policeman couldn’t find his cell phone at the gym, he chose to body search a man. The police are now being sentenced for misconduct, reports Dagens Juridik.
When the police during a visit to the gym could not find his mobile phone, he suspected a man and carried out a quick body search. However, no phone was found, but it was later found in the gym. The man who was frisked has a disability that affects his ability to communicate, among other things.
Both the District Court and the Court of Appeal have found that the suspicion of theft rested on very weak grounds and that there was no legal support for the visitation. The policeman is therefore sentenced to misconduct and a 30-day fine.
