On Monday, Ukraine announced that at least six people were killed as a result of Russian raids that targeted the south and northeast of the country, including the city of Zaporozhye, while Russia announced deaths as a result of Ukrainian attacks.
The Ukrainian Public Prosecution reported that a Russian drone bombed, at dawn on Monday, a family’s home in a town in the Sumy region, killing a boy (13 years old), his father (36 years old), and his grandmother (73 years old), and wounding a number of family members.
In the city of Zaporozhye, the head of the military administration, Ivan Fedorov, announced – via Telegram – the death of a woman after she was trapped inside a house that caught fire as a result of a Russian drone strike.
The head of the military administration in the Odessa region (south of the country), Oleg Kiper, also reported that one person was killed following an attack by an “Iskander” ballistic missile on Sunday evening on an agricultural site.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba announced the death of a crew member of a cargo ship flying the Panama flag in the Black Sea, after a fire broke out on it as a result of a drone attack. He explained that the victim was a 58-year-old Egyptian chef, while 8 crew members were rescued.
The Ukrainian army also announced that it had carried out a strike targeting a factory that produces electronic components for missiles in the Russian region of Voronezh, using air-launched cruise missiles, describing the facility as an essential element in the Russian defense industries, especially those linked to the “Iskander” systems.
Video footage showed thick columns of smoke rising from the targeted location, while the region’s governor, Alexander Gusev, said that production facilities were damaged and 3 people were injured, noting that air defenses shot down “high-speed” air targets.
Gusev later announced that five people were killed as a result of a missile attack on the city, pointing out that a large fire broke out in an industrial facility and that it suffered the greatest damage, in addition to the injury of dozens of people.
Russian authorities also reported shooting down about 60 Ukrainian drones, which led to the temporary closure of Moscow’s four airports.
Yesterday, Sunday, Russia targeted several Ukrainian provinces, especially Kharkiv, which witnessed deaths and injuries and damage to residential buildings.
Attacks on energy facilities in Kherson and Odessa also continued, coinciding with intense operations in Donetsk, while Ukrainian forces carried out long-range strikes against oil sites and vital bridges in the Crimean Peninsula.
This comes within the framework of the ongoing war since February 2022, as Russia continues to launch repeated raids inside Ukraine, while Kiev escalates its attacks targeting military and industrial facilities inside Russian territory.
