A potential attack on the UFC gala at the White House was foiled earlier in June, according to the FBI.
Two more people suspected of being involved have now been arrested.
The martial arts event was held outside the White House on President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, and the roughly 4,000-strong audience included members of the administration and business leaders alike.
With the help of, among other things, explosive-laden drones and snipers, the gala would be stormed, the FBI stated after the plans became known. However, according to court documents obtained by the AP news agency, it is unclear whether the suspected attackers had obtained all the equipment when the plan was stopped by police authorities.
About 20 people have been suspected of involvement in the averted crime. Now two more people have been arrested in the states of Missouri and Washington respectively.
