R&B star upset over AI trend

Artist SZA hates AI music.
In a story on Instagram, she calls the phenomenon degenerate shit.
She also considers musicians who support AI to be disgusting.
AI-generated music is becoming more and more common. At the beginning of the year, the streaming service Deezer announced that it was uploaded 60,000 new AI songs – every day. Sweden also got its first AI hit in January when the song “I know, you are not mine” topped the charts.
But the R&B star SZA is sharply critical of the development. In a terrifying Instagram photo, she reveals that she has searched for her name in an AI music database. The result: the model was trained on 238 of SZA’s songs.
“I’m sure some of them are unreleased. If you’re a musician who supports this degenerate shit? Then you’re disgusting and there’s NOTHING YOU COULD EVER SAY TO ME THAT MAKES THIS OKAY. I hope you get the life you deserve,” she writes.
Earlier criticism of AI
She has previously been skeptical of AI. Last summer, she wrote on Instagram that the effects of AI are hitting minority communities hard. In addition, SZA spoke critically after the AI artist Xania Monet signed a record contract worth three million dollars, equivalent to almost SEK 29 million.
