Leo Ostegaard, the Norwegian national team defender, had a child, but he had to follow his birth via video due to his presence with his country’s national team in the World Cup.
Ostegaard (26 years old) was unable to attend in person because he was busy preparing with the Scandinavian national team in the United States for their second match in the group stage against Senegal, next Monday in New Jersey.

He said he was “very tired” from the call he received at the Norwegian team’s hotel in North Carolina, “but it was great.”
A video clip published by the Norwegian Federation shows its teammates singing and clapping in the hotel.
The player scored a headed goal shortly after coming on as a substitute in Norway’s 4-1 victory over Iraq in the opening of their World Cup campaign. He dedicated the goal to his loved ones and formed the letter “A”, short for his partner Aurora’s name, with his fingers.
