The sportsmanship in the 2026 World Cup went beyond the green rectangle when Uzbek defender Abdulkadir Khosanov recorded a noble stance towards a television cameraman who was injured as a result of a strong collision between them during the exciting confrontation between Uzbekistan and Colombia.
The Uzbek Football Federation announced that its player, Khosanov, a professional with Manchester City, took the initiative to contact the photographer by sending his own shirt signed with the word “sorry,” in a gesture through which he wanted to turn the page on the incident that occupied the followers.

Details of the incident
The incident dates back to the course of the first half of the match, when Khosanov rushed very quickly in an attempt to intercept the ball from Colombian star Luis Diaz near the touchline, but the momentum of the rush led to his accidental collision with the photographer who was performing his professional duties on the side of the field.
Immediately after the accident occurred, the medical staff intervened to assist the photographer in the field before he was transferred to the hospital to conduct thorough examinations and ensure his safety. The Uzbek defender’s action came as an initiative to mitigate the impact of that injury, as the photographer received the shirt bearing the phrase “Sorry.”
