While a number of today’s competitors have personal bests in excess of 90m, a look at their season bests might give us a better idea of who will be Neeraj Chopra’s biggest challengers today. Apart from Pathirage (92.62m), the next-best season best is held by Grenada’s Anderson Peters (86.08m). Then come USA’s Curtis Thompson (85.33m) and Czechia’s Jakub Vadlejch (85.24m).
Neeraj, of course, does not have a season best, having not participated in a competitive javelin event in nine months.
