The government in Cuba has presented 176 measures intended to take the country out of the serious crisis it is in.
Several of the points aim to reduce the state’s role in the economy and attract investment.
The reforms were presented by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero in a speech to the National Assembly on Thursday, and according to the AFP news agency, involve a liberalization of the communist-ruled country’s economy.
Sectors affected include agriculture, tourism and banking. Already last week, it was clear that reforms were underway, including in the form of increased room for action for small businesses.
The United States and its President Donald Trump have put Cuba under high pressure in the past year, and have, among other things, established a blockade against oil deliveries to the country.
