Tomas was taken to hospital by ambulance: “Jumped over the fence”
Co-owner Tomas Lendholm wanted to celebrate the victory at Bodentravet just before V85 last Saturday.
But when he jumped over the fence, he broke his leg.
– Working to bring down the swelling so they can complete the operation, says the 49-year-old from the hospital bed.
Midnight trot from Boden last Saturday.
In race 4, just before the V85 game was to kick off, driver Mika Forss and Second Breakfast won.
The victory was worth SEK 100,000.
One who wanted to be part of the celebration in the winner’s circle was 49-year-old co-owner Tomas Lendholm.
But it didn’t turn out the way he had imagined.
“Open fracture”
When he was going to jump over the fence, he fell and injured himself, something like The trotting round rewritten.
Instead of a celebration, there was a rush to the hospital by ambulance.
There it was established that Tomas had broken his leg.
According to the doctors, he will remain in the hospital throughout the Midsummer weekend.
– Unfortunately, it is an open fracture above the ankle, he says from the hospital bed to Trav365.
How are you?
– I feel fine despite the circumstances. But next time I promise to walk instead of jumping the fence. My wife Marie says I’m not 25 anymore. Don’t quite understand what she means by that.
What happens now?
– I am working to bring down the swelling so that they can complete the operation itself. Right now the screws and rails that hold them apart have been drilled. They say six to seven days still in bed. There will be many hours at ATG Liven right now.
With a distance of a few days, Tomas talks about the memories of the accident.
– I jumped over and landed sideways. The leg just bent. The trip to the hospital was surprisingly easy, but it was probably the adrenaline that made it happen.
“The horse won anyway”
What do you say about the victory?
– The horse is a really nice stallion that anyone can be around and take care of. My wife Marie, who has absolutely no experience with horses, grooms and grooms him.
The coach Mats Rånlund is cohabiting with Toma’s mother Anna Lena Rundholm.
Tomas’ brother Fredrik also participates.
– The horse’s effort was fine. He had a nice race despite low speed during the race with a very fast finish. The race has turned around here at the hospital a few times and there will probably be a few more during the midsummer weekend, says Tomas and concludes:
– The horse won anyway. That’s what I told everyone here at the hospital when they asked what happened.
