The comeback is delayed for Holger Rune, 23.
The injury he sustained in Stockholm in October still haunts him.
Now the Dane misses another major tournament.
Holger Rune was inconsolable in the Royal Tennis Hall in October.
The Dane knew immediately that the injury was serious when he was forced to break the semi-final against Ugo Humbert.
It turned out to be a torn hamstring.
Rune has since taken a lot of steps in his rehabilitation, but he has had a few setbacks.
Previously, he hoped to make a comeback in May, but it didn’t happen and he missed the French Open.
Want to be able to compete
Now it is clear that he will also miss Wimbledon. This year’s third grand slam tournament begins on June 29.
But even if Wimbledon is not on the agenda, he hopes to make a comeback relatively soon.
“While we are encouraged by the success, our focus is on ensuring he is fully ready to compete at the highest level upon his return”it says in a press release from the Danish tennis star’s team, according to TT.
