James Barker, producer of “Love Island USA”, has died during filming in Fiji.
“His passing is deeply felt throughout the production,” writes the television company.
James Barker was the executive producer of “Love Island USA” when he suddenly suffered an unexpected medical emergency and passed away on Fiji last week, the entertainment site states TMZ.
He turned 40 years old.
Television companies ITV America and Peacock tell TMZ in a statement that they will honor him on Tuesday’s episode of the show.
They describe Barker’s death as an unimaginable loss felt throughout the “Love Island USA” team. He is described as well-liked, highly valued and as someone who left a clear mark with his kindness, talent and dedication, writes TMZ.
The companies also send their condolences to Barker’s partner, family, friends and colleagues.
The exact circumstances surrounding the death are still unknown, according to TMZ.
On his Linkedin page, Barker states that he joined ITV America in August 2020 and became a permanent executive producer of “Love Island USA” in January 2026.
