Tunisian football club Esperance Sports Club announced today, Monday, that it has officially signed a contract with Romanian coach Laurento Regikamf to take over the technical leadership of the team, succeeding French coach Patrice Baumel.
This is the Romanian coach’s second experience with the Tunisian team, after a previous period that lasted five months between 2024 and 2025, during which he previously supervised the club’s training.

The Esperance management had decided to dismiss French coach Patrice Baumel last May, after the team failed to reach the CAF Champions League final, after losing in the semi-finals to Mamelodi Sundowns, who later won the title at the expense of the Royal Army.
Esperance also lost the Tunisian League title in the last rounds, after falling in the penultimate round to its traditional rival, Club Africain, which succeeded in winning the championship.
