London- At a time when parliamentary and human rights condemnations are escalating, the “Great Israeli Real Estate Exhibition” was launched in the British capital, London, today, Sunday, June 14, 2026, amid a state of official confusion and judicial and security evasion of preventing the event or investigating its organizers, despite legal confirmations of its violation of international law and its incitement to consolidate settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The exhibition, which was held under heavy security at the Edgware United Synagogue north of London, faced massive field protests led by hundreds of demonstrators, led by the Palestinian Youth Movement and the “Jewish Anti-Zionism Action” movement, who spread out on the streets and held Jewish prayers in the street, raising the slogan “Remove war crimes from our synagogues” and “Not in our name” before the police dispersed them.
Palestinian cry
At the heart of the field crowd outside the exhibition, representative of the Palestinian Youth Movement, Jenin Hourani, told Al Jazeera Net: “Over the past week, we have mobilized and mobilized all segments of British society to cancel this criminal event.”
She explained that over the past three years, Israel has tried to make genocide normal and normal, but conscientious people around the world have rejected that, adding, “Today, they are trying to make selling our homeland and launching auctions on it a normal thing, which we must all reject strongly and without retreat.”
Al Jazeera Net Foreign Affairs
A British Foreign Office spokesman said in a statement to Al Jazeera Net: “We have been clear in our complete opposition to advertising properties for sale in illegal settlements,” explaining that on June 9, the British government updated its directives to British companies, strongly advising them not to engage in any economic activity in illegal settlements, and warning them of the legal and potential reputational consequences of any such activities.
In an attempt to justify the lack of executive intervention to prevent the exhibition, sources in the British Foreign Office revealed to Al Jazeera Net that the ministry is closely following the matter and welcomes any media comment in this regard.
Mayor of London: The settlements are illegal
For his part, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, in an official statement transmitted by his media office to Al Jazeera Net, condemned the organization of the event in the British capital, stressing his opposition to it and demanding that the companies involved be held accountable.
The Mayor of London’s statement stated that the Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal and unlawful under international law, and are closely linked to the ongoing displacement of Palestinians.
“I condemn any attempt to sell real estate in West Bank settlements, whether in London or anywhere else in the world. I share the concerns and objections raised regarding the large Israeli real estate exhibition in the city,” he said.
Sadiq Khan added: “I have discussed this matter directly with the Metropolitan Police, and have been informed that any allegations of a criminal offense relating to the illegal sale of property at this event will be assessed by the police with a view to investigating them,” while welcoming the sanctions and updates issued by the British Foreign Office against settler violence financing networks.

British MPs: Shameful collusion and profound betrayal
Angry parliamentary responses came from members of the British Parliament, who signed a joint letter that included about 100 MPs demanding Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper to intervene immediately to prevent this legal breach. The list included representatives from various parties, including the ruling Workers’ Party.
In a statement to Al Jazeera Net, parliamentarian Afzal Khan, one of the most prominent representatives of the Labor Party, said: “I strongly condemn the large Israeli real estate exhibition surrounded by secrecy this Sunday in London,” considering that selling illegally occupied lands is a wrong, illegitimate and shameful act.
He added that Palestinians are being attacked from every angle, and that the exhibition represents another form of forced displacement against vulnerable groups.
The MP joined nearly 100 other MPs to demand that the Minister of Foreign Affairs cancel the event and ban the sale of occupied territories.
In the same context, independent parliamentary representative Ayoub Khan told Al Jazeera Net: “Holding a promotional tour in London to market the sale of real estate built on looted Palestinian land represents a deep betrayal and blatant complicity. The British government should have stopped this event immediately and imposed strict penalties on any person or entity involved in facilitating it or profiting from it.”
As for Labor Party MP Richard Burgon, he stressed in his statement to Al Jazeera Net the legal duty placed on the government, saying that the British government bears a moral obligation and a legal duty that requires it to act and prevent: “Israeli settlements are illegal under international law, and yet an event is being held in London to publicly announce the illegal sale of lands in the occupied Palestinian territories. Ministers must intervene immediately to stop this shameful event.”
No criminal investigations into the organizers
In contrast to the directives of the Foreign Ministry, the Mayor of London, and the objections of MPs, Al Jazeera Net contacted the British Metropolitan Police, and a London Police spokesman confirmed to Al Jazeera Net: “Based on the broader questions asked (by Al Jazeera Net), we are not currently conducting any official assessment or criminal investigation with the organizers or companies participating in this event regarding potential violations of British law.”
Regarding its security plan in the vicinity of the synagogue, the spokesman added: “We are aware of the event and the possibility of organizing protests against it. We will deploy our personnel to prevent serious disturbances and to deal with any violations, using the full scope of the powers available to us, including imposing restrictions under the Public Order Law.”
The police spokesman added to Al Jazeera Net: “We are aware that Jewish communities are suffering from escalating feelings of fear and anxiety after two and a half years of continuous protests, arson incidents and recent attacks. There is a clear distinction between a protest in central London and a protest in the heart of local communities where the potential for causing serious disorder and intimidation is greater, and our security plan will reflect that.”

Jews against colonialism
Al Jazeera Net presented the official Metropolitan Police statement to the “Jewish Anti-Zionist Action” movement for comment. Activist Talia Wooden responded: “As anti-Zionist Jews who care deeply about both Palestine and Judaism, we see it as our duty to protest the desecration of our places of worship by organizations committing war crimes. We completely reject such atrocities being committed in our name and with the complicity of our societal institutions.”
Deconstructing the British security statement, Woodin continued: “The Metropolitan Police claim to be acting to prevent ‘disorder and intimidation’ against local communities, yet they do nothing when these same communities engage in much greater disorder and intimidation through their contribution to events such as the Great Israel Property Show, which constitutes a crime under both British and international law.”

She concluded: “Not only were they silent, but the police violently arrested Jewish people while they were participating in this peaceful protest. These police do not protect anyone, and their oppressive and disproportionate tactics make us all less safe. We are here to fight the false and dangerous narrative that deliberately confuses Judaism and Zionism, and uses the scarecrow of anti-Semitism to suppress peaceful protests. We refuse to provide any religious cover to legitimize the plundering of Palestinian lands.”
In a field development, the “Jewish Anti-Zionist Action” movement revealed in exclusive and special statements to Al Jazeera Net that it was able to bring a number of its Jewish members into the synagogue hall to disrupt the event and monitor what is going on behind its closed doors.
Activists conveyed to Al Jazeera Net live testimonies from behind the scenes of the sale, confirming that some Israeli organizers and exhibitors were seen enticing attendees and potential buyers by offering them facilities and means that guarantee them “tax evasion” for specific periods of time in the event of completing the purchase and actually moving to live inside Israel (Upper), which places the exhibition under suspicion of financial corruption and facilitation of tax crimes under British law.
It is noteworthy that Britain played the main role in establishing the State of Israel on usurped Arab land in 1948.
This role dates back to the so-called “Balfour Declaration” in 1917, when British Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour sent a letter to Lord Lionel Rothschild, one of the leaders of the Zionist movement at that time.
In this letter, the British government made a pledge to establish a state for the Jews in Palestine.
