Activated crisis support
The pastor himself is abroad, but since the first report came in has worked intensively to ensure that the people in the town have somewhere to be, talk to each other and be there for each other.
– We keep the church in central Alvesta open. Yesterday afternoon and evening there were a lot of young people with their parents.
The municipality has appointed a crisis support group to provide residents with support. Leisure parks are open and the municipality’s field workers have been moving around Alvesta during the Saturday evening and night.
– We are all affected and it is clear that we are trying to take care of our residents in the very best way, says Jessica Karlsson.
On Monday, schools in the municipality will also be extra open.
– You are welcome to come there if you feel you need it. We are on site in Alvesta church from 11 o’clock today and then we will be there all day and evening. There are many young people and they need to talk, says Elisabet Cárcamo Storm.
“Terribly tragic”
It is still unclear what happened in the villa in the small village, the day after the end of school.
– We do not know more than that it is terribly tragic. Our task is to listen and support in this unimaginable. There is a lot of fear and worry, then we will be there.
