Hungary’s former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been re-elected as leader of the national conservative Fidesz.
The decision was made during the party’s congress in Budapest on Saturday, reports the Hungarian news agency MTI.
Orbán, 62, stepped down as prime minister in May – after 16 years in power – after losing the election to Péter Magyar in April.
But Orbán still has strong support from his party, with 729 of 737 congressional delegates voting to allow him to continue as president.
