Today, Friday, Facebook users faced difficulties in accessing the social media company’s services, as reported by Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook.
Company spokesman Andy Stone explained in a post on X, “We are aware that users are currently experiencing difficulties in accessing our services. We are working to solve this problem.”
DownDetector.com also reported that it had recorded more than 62,000 reports of problems on Facebook and more than 8,000 reports of problems on Instagram as of 10:11 a.m. EST.
The site tracks service outages by compiling status reports from a number of sources.
Since the numbers on the DownDetector website are based on reports submitted by users, the actual number of affected users may differ from what the website states.
