Five soldiers were killed when an Indian Air Force plane crashed near a base in the northeastern state of Assam.
It is unclear how many people were on board the Russian-made An-32 plane, but according to military sources, the co-pilot survived the crash, according to AFP.
The An-32 is specially designed to handle extreme conditions and high altitudes and is often used in the northeastern part of the country which contains mountainous regions.
