The US has launched attacks against several targets in Iran, according to the country’s military command Centcom.
“The attacks are a response to Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression,” writes Centcom on X.
Iranian pro-regime media reports that explosions were heard in the port city of Bandar Abbas, on the island of Qeshm, and in the cities of Minab and Sirik, all of which are located near the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier on Wednesday, the US government warned of new attacks.
“We’re going to hit them hard tonight and hopefully Iran makes a good decision,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said, according to Axios.
The US also attacked Iran during the night of Wednesday.
