SD’s party leader Jimmie Åkesson sits on the board of a real estate company – but did not report this to the Riksdag as required by the rules, reports TV4 Nyheterna.
Åkesson invested one million kroner in the company and took a seat on the board – but did not report this to the Riksdag’s financial register, which members are required to do by law.
It concerns a company that owns a property in Sölvesborg. According to the rules, financial commitments must be reported within one month, for the sake of transparency. Åkesson’s investment took place in 2024.
“Regardless of why you don’t do it, there is a risk that a suspicion grows that you do it on purpose,” says Birgitta Niklasson, senior lecturer at the University of Gothenburg, to TV4.
