In a dramatic incident, US President Donald Trump suddenly withdrew from an interview with the “Meet the Press” program on NBC, after a series of shocking questions directed to him by broadcaster Kristen Welker about controversial issues, most notably his accusations of election fraud, and the events of the storming of the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
A report published by the Washington Post stated that the interview, which was broadcast on Sunday and was conducted on a farm in Wisconsin, began normally, as it dealt with political and economic issues, before gradually turning into clear tension between the two parties.

The report added that over time, Welker’s pointed questions about Trump’s claims of “election fraud” and manipulation of the voting results seemed to annoy the president, especially when she confronted him about the lack of any evidence to support these accusations.

The Washington Post reported that Trump maintained his position when asked about his repeated accusations that the 2020 elections were “rigged,” citing the slow counting of votes in some states, but the broadcaster responded that this did not constitute evidence.

Later, Trump indicated – during his appearance at another event – that the rainy weather at the filming location contributed to his tension, explaining that he was “a little angry because of the rain,” but at the same time he stressed that the meeting was “good despite everything.”
