Google has added many “secret” features and hidden features to its famous browser, Chrome, in order to make its use easier and better than others. These features differ from the usual extensions that you can install in Chrome, as they work directly without any installation by simply typing the command in the browser’s search bar.
To benefit from these features, you do not need an Internet connection at all or even a Google account. All you need is the Chrome browser.
Turn Chrome into a notes app
The idea of note applications has spread widely recently, and some of them have add-ons in the Chrome browser that enable you to share and write texts directly within the browser window.
However, sometimes you need to write notes quickly without having a visual interface that prevents you from writing or even logging into your account, that is, all you need to do is just write on a blank page.

Chrome has a feature like this that allows you to open a blank white page on which you can write as you wish in HTML format. This means that you will not be able to format or modify what you are going to write.
You should note that everything you write will completely disappear from the window as soon as you close it, and the only way to keep it is by copying it to another external page.
To turn Chrome into a blank page like a notebook, you must type this command in the address bar: data:text/html,
Browse computer files
The Make Use of website report reveals one of the features that may be unknown in Chrome, as you can use it as a text browser for files and search for files stored on your computer without having to open any system applications.

This feature works simply by typing any address of any hard disk in your computer into the address bar. For example, to find out the folders and files on disk C, you type the command C: in the browser address bar. A blue list will appear that includes all the files stored in your computer, and you can browse it as you wish as if you were in a traditional file browser.
Play video and photo files
Many users know that the Chrome browser is capable of playing PDF files, and it is considered one of the lightweight applications for opening this type of file.
However, many users are unaware that it is an application capable of playing all files of any type, from traditional photos to video files in various formats, as well as audio files.
You can do this through several different methods. The first is to drag the file and drop it directly into the Chrome window. You can also do this by using the file browser feature within the application and accessing the files that you want to play.
You don’t need to install any external apps or add-ons to do this, all you need is the file you want to play.
Play the dinosaur game without interrupting the Internet
The dinosaur game in the Chrome browser is one of the most prominent and important features in the browser that users are accustomed to because it appears during times when the Internet is cut off.
You can activate this game and access it with ease, even if you are connected to the Internet. To do this, all you need to do is type the Chrome://dino command in the address bar to show you the game and start enjoying it.

Browser task manager
The Chrome browser is famous for being one of the applications that consumes a lot of random memory and causes crashes on computers with small spaces.
Therefore, Google has added a direct feature in the browser that allows you to control the pages that consume more memory than others, according to a report by the American technical website “BC Tips”.

You can benefit from this feature directly by pressing the Shift+Esc buttons to open the Task Manager window for Chrome pages, through which you can close any page that consumes a lot of the device’s resources.
