Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is in Tehran in an attempt to shake up negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Naqvi is to deliver a message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei from Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir, the state-run Iranian news agency Irna reports.
– I think it is an important message, says Naqvi according to state Turkish Anatolia.
On Sunday morning, Naqvi held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to state-controlled Iranian media.
According to Pakistani authorities, Islamabad, with the support of countries such as Qatar, Turkey and Egypt, is trying to bridge the gaps between the US and Iran in order to reduce tensions and ensure the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
