Ludvig Åberg, 26, had the worst PGA Tour round of the year at the Memorial Tournament.
He was six shots over par on Friday.
Three birdies improved the numbers a bit, but bogeys on half (!) of all holes ruined the day for Åberg.
He stated that he putted far too poorly.
– It was brutally bad. I didn’t recognize myself in my game, says Åberg to HBO Max.
After two rounds and five strokes over par, Åberg risked not being allowed to continue playing at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Columbus. He hung loose, but narrowly made it into the top 50 who made the cut.
Worst in over a year
Friday’s 78 was Åberg’s worst round on the PGA Tour since January 22, 2025. He then needed 79 to complete the fourth round at the Farmers Insurance Open.
For Alex Norén, things are going better in the Memorial Tournament. He is one stroke over par after two rounds.
American JT Poston leads by nine shots under par at the halfway mark.
