After last night’s shock victory away to San Antonio Spurs105–104, the Knicks are two games out of their first NBAtitle in 53 years.
Shortly after the win, which gave the Knicks a 2-0 lead in the Finals series, ticket prices for games three and four soared.
To get into Madison Square Garden for game three, you now have to pay at least $11,700, around 110,000 kroner, figures from the ticket retailer show Game time.
A marked increase from the price of 7,100 dollars, about 66,000 kroner, from Thursday afternoon.
For game four, where the Knicks can possibly secure the championship title, the cheapest tickets are up to SEK 140,000. That is a doubling compared to Thursday’s figures.
Trump helps raise prices
The most expensive tickets for match three, which is played on the night of Tuesday, cost around SEK 140,000. A price that increased after President Donald Trump announced that he plans to attend the game.
The Knicks won the game of the night after deciding on a free throw with nine seconds left.
Spurs star Victor Wembanyama was heavily scapegoated when he first threw away a ball at 104-104 and then gave away the foul that led to the free throw. In the ensuing attack, Wembanyama had the chance to decide, but he missed his shot.
The Knicks have now won 13 straight games in the playoffs, which is the second longest streak in NBA history. The Golden State Warriors hold the record with 15 games from 2017, a record the Knicks have a chance to match. The final series against the Spurs will be decided in the best of seven games.
