“The prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives,” she said. “While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you.”

In the post, she added that the family has had a lot of love “during this unimaginable time” and that they have received “comfort in the middle of so much pain.”

Kyle Busch’s family previously said that he died after he was hospitalized for pneumonia that progressed “into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications.” He was 41.

He took home first place in the most races in NASCAR history: 234 across the sport’s three national series.

The photo in the Instagram post shows Samantha with Kyle and their two children, Brexton, 11, and Lennix, 4. Brexton is seen on Kyle’s back, while Samantha holds Lennix.

“Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people,” she wrote. “There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone.”

She ended the post by thanking those who have shown up for her and her two children, including family, friends and strangers.

“We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful,” she wrote.
