An infant has been killed by Israeli military when it opened fire on a vehicle in southern Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli military says in a statement that it “expresses deep sorrow” over what happened.
The seven-month-old child died in the raid on Friday evening, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, writes the AFP news agency.
His parents were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Israeli military said in a statement late Friday that it “expresses deep sorrow for the harm caused to individuals who were not involved.”
The statement from the Israeli military said that soldiers perceived a vehicle accelerating towards them, and that one soldier fired a shot and that three Palestinians “who were not involved” were injured.
“The incident is under investigation,” writes the military.
