Tom Holland, 30, refuses to lead the popular program “Saturday night live”.
The Spiderman actor’s reason?
His severe dyslexia.
Tom Holland now reveals the diagnosis that stops him from accepting one of the most honorable assignments an actor can receive – that of hosting “Saturday Night Live”:
– I am terrified of the concept of trying to read.
Holland, who is currently in one of the summer blockbusters, “Odyssey”, suffers from severe dyslexia which makes it difficult for him to read aloud. He revealed this when he was a guest on the podcast “Good Hang with Amy Poehler“.
– When I have to read aloud, it becomes a mental block and I can freeze completely.
In the interview, Holland talks about how he prepares for joint readings of film scripts, which he calls his worst days at work.
– I mark my lines and learn everything in advance.
Has led the program high
“Saturday night live” is known for having always used handwritten script cards for its sketches, among other things to avoid technical clutter.
Amy Poehler54, who worked on “SNL” for eight seasons, jokes that some hosts were high on drugs while hosting the show and that Holland shouldn’t worry about the reading.
– I love the program and the idea of having fun and pushing yourself. It’s just that with the script cards, he says.
