Will Alexander Zverev make the fourth final?

The 29-year-old German is ready for the French Open final.

The world’s third-ranked tennis player defeated 27th-ranked Czech Jakub Menšík, 20, in Friday’s semifinal at Roland Garros.

Zverev won 3–1 (7–5, 6–2, 3–6, 6–3) against Menšík.

Menšík rallied to win the third set after a medical timeout, but Zverev came back in the fourth set. He played steady and well when he reached the final.

Zverev is happy that he managed to defeat Menšík, who roared through to the semi-finals.

– He has played fantastically these two weeks and beat so many incredible players. I knew it would be my toughest challenge yet. I managed to win and I’m happy about it, says Zverev.

Three final losses

Zverev has been in the finals of the French Open, the US Open and the Australian Open before. But he lost those three finals.

In the 2026 French Open final on Sunday, Zverev will be the early favorite against an Italian opponent. Later this evening, Matteo Arnaldi and Flavio Cobolli will fight for the second final place.
