GOTLAND. Arvid Stenbäcken fell from seven meters, broke his neck and suffered 40 fractures.
Then the former “Paradise hotel” contestant disappeared from the limelight.
– It’s really quite miraculous that I’m doing this thing. I never thought I would be able to stand again, he says.
It was a few months after the recording of “Paradise hotel” in 2018 that Arvid Stenbäcken fell seven meters from a balcony. He broke his neck, had 40 fractures throughout his body and was in a wheelchair.
After that, he has not been seen in the box, except for “Celebrity ex on the beach” which was shown in 2020.
– Much of the reason why I got away from the limelight was that I ended up in a relationship and then it becomes a bit like that. Much of the world I was in was reality with dating involved, so it didn’t happen, says Stenbäcken.
But now he is ready for his real television comeback. This autumn, the new season of “The challenge” will be broadcast – and Arvid is one of the participants.
– It just feels magical that I can even walk. I don’t expect to win, he says.

The participant says that the road back from the accident has been difficult.
– It has been tough. Then I could have solved it much better with more serious rehabilitation. But I’m fine.
What do you think is your greatest strength in this program?
– I hope and believe that the social aspect is my greatest strength.
The winning sum is one million kroner, what would you have done with the money?
– A million? It’s an evening on the avenue. No, I’m kidding. This is a challenge to myself and I’m just happy to stand on my feet and that I was given a second chance by God.

But are you satisfied?
– Well… I understand that I’ve been away for a few years and I haven’t worked with TV4 before, so I’m not here to make any big money, but I hope that this will make waves and then I hope to see you in “The Traitors” later.
