The moderates want the age limit for buying alcoholic beverages under 22 percent at Systembolaget to be lowered to 18.
“Today, as an adult, you can vote in parliamentary elections, do military service, get a driver’s license and buy alcohol in the pub. Then it is also reasonable that the age limit for shopping at Systembolaget will be 18,” says party leader and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in a press release.
The proposal is in line with what already applies in Norway and Finland, according to The moderates.
