The Turkish Ministry of Defense received the first batch of upgraded armored vehicles called “Khidr” (HIZIR 4X4), which are resistant to mines and protected from ambushes.
The delivery of the new generation of armor – which was developed in line with the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces – was completed as part of a purchase deal concluded by the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
This armored vehicle is produced by Katmer Celer Company, one of the leading companies in the manufacture of armored ground vehicles within the Turkish defense industries sector.
The company said – in a statement – that the advanced armored vehicle was designed according to NATO standards, and features a three-door structure and a capacity of up to five crew members, which is consistent with modern operational requirements.

The new generation of Khader features a 400-horsepower engine, the ability to climb steep slopes of up to 70%, in addition to a high level of ballistic and mine protection, and a fully automatic transmission, with high maneuverability and a smoother and more comfortable driving experience.
The company announced the continuation of production operations, confirming that the rest of the deliveries included within the project will be completed by the end of this year.
In a statement to Anadolu Agency, Furkan Katmarji, Executive Vice President of the company, expressed his pride in completing the first batch of deliveries of the new generation “Khader” armored vehicles, which meet the modern operational requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces.
He explained that the “Khadr 4×4” armored vehicle – which has been modernized to suit the harshest geographical and climatic conditions in accordance with the military standards of NATO, of which Turkey is a member – will enhance the capabilities of Turkish soldiers in the field, thanks to its high levels of ballistic protection and protection against mines.

He pointed out that this new version – in which developed subsystems were integrated into the local production system – reflects the level of development reached by the company’s engineering capabilities.
Turkey unveiled the Khadr armored vehicle for the first time in 2016 in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and received orders to purchase it from the African continent.
According to a statement issued by the company, the first export contracts for “Khader” were signed in July 2019, worth $20.7 million.
