The ground has cleared in Nävekvarn.
A large sinkhole stops traffic entering a residential area.
It is the second time in a few years that the same road has been hit.
A sinkhole has appeared in Skeppsviksvägen outside Nävekvarn, south of Nyköping. The hole is two and a half meters deep and approximately five by 6 meters wide, according to the police.
The road enters a residential area and is blocked off in both directions.
– A contractor must be on site during the morning to look over the hole, says Olle Älveroth at the police press center.
The hole already appeared on Sunday and grew during the day, according to the rescue service SN.
Road affected by sinkholes
Just before midsummer 2017, a sinkhole appeared a short distance away on the same road.
That time, the reason behind the landslide was that there had previously been mining at the site which affected the ground.
The reason behind Monday’s sinkhole is not clear.
