The joy and euphoria has degenerated into chaos in Paris after PSG’s new Champions League title.

Several clashes between police and the public have taken place during the Saturday evening and night, French media reports.

Just like last year there is chaos on the streets of Paris after that PSG won the men’s Champions League in football (on penalties against Arsenal).

At midnight, the night before Sunday, 235 people have been arrested in Paris and the city’s inner suburbs. It states Le Parisien. At least one police officer is said to have been injured. A restaurant and a bakery have also been vandalized.

The total number of arrests in France amounts to 336, reports Le Parisien just after twelve o’clock. 24 torches and hundreds of grenades have been seized.

People have set fire to bicycles and cars, including near the Eiffel Tower, in the aftermath of Paris Saint-Germain’s second consecutive CL title.

Shortly before 10 p.m., when several PSG supporters left the team’s home arena, the Parc des Princes, they were met by tear gas from the police. This when other people are said to have applied to the arena in search of starting a fight.

The final, which was played in Budapest, was shown on a big screen inside the Parc des Princes.

Pictures from Paris shows, among other things, when firefighters have firework pieces thrown at them while trying to put out fires.

An estimated 20,000 people had made it to the Champs-Elysées, the avenue where the world-famous Arc de Triomphe stands. Some of them tried to attack a nearby police station, but failed, reports Le Parisien.
