Al Jazeera broadcast exclusive footage of the moment an Israeli drone bombed a car in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, killing one person and destroying the car.

The car was targeted by a missile fired directly from one of the main streets in Nabatieh, and the director of Al Jazeera’s office in Beirut, Mazen Ibrahim, said that the car was a “Rapid.”

The exclusive footage showed rescue, civil defense, and firefighting teams trying to put out the fire and recover the body of a person from inside the car that was completely destroyed, and they may be searching for remaining body parts, as Mazen said.

Mazen said that the Israeli drone was monitoring the targeted location.

He also confirms that the Nabatieh area is almost empty of residents, but the Israeli occupation forces continue to target people in southern Lebanon, stressing that Israeli fighters and drones target people driving their cars who later turn out to be civilians.

Yesterday, Friday, the Israeli army launched a series of air strikes and artillery shelling targeting the city of Nabatieh and several towns in southern Lebanon.

The city of Nabatieh also witnessed a new wave of displacement of dozens of residents, after the intense Israeli raids and the approaching forces invading the outskirts of the city prompted the people to leave it, after months of insisting on staying despite the continuous bombardment.

The residents – who had refused to leave the city throughout the recent period – were finally forced to flee, with the arrival of Israeli forces to a few kilometers from the outskirts of Nabatieh, which is one of the most prominent cities in southern Lebanon.
