US Secretary of State Marco Rubio landed last night in Sweden ahead of the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Helsingborg.
He landed at Malmö airport, a picture shows.
During the visit to Helsingborg, Rubio will, among other things, meet Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The talks are expected to focus on how to support Ukraine, but also on how NATO countries should distribute the burden.
– I perceive Marco Rubio as a constructive force. But it is very clear that the US expects a burden shift, where Europe takes a much greater responsibility for its own security, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) previously told TT.
