Today, Thursday, the activities of the day phase of the “Distinguished Observer Day” began, which is the final day of the “Afes 26” maneuvers in the state of Izmir, western Turkey, according to what Anadolu Agency reported.
The activities of the night phase of the “Distinguished Observer Day” were held on Wednesday evening, as part of the final program of the maneuvers.

It is expected that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Defense Minister Yaşar Guler, and Chief of Staff Selcuk Bayraktaroglu will attend the “Distinguished Observer Day” activities, in addition to defense ministers and chiefs of staff from friendly and allied countries.

The “AFES 26” maneuvers – which are organized once every two years – began on April 16 with the participation of more than 10,000 military personnel from 50 countries, and their activities will continue until today, Thursday, May 21.

The maneuvers highlight the operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces and their readiness to deal with modern wars, in addition to their use of advanced military technology.
The Efes maneuvers are more than just military exercises, as they are seen as a reflection of the Turkish security approach based on promoting peace, stability and international cooperation.
