A number of coaches and former players competed to congratulate Arsenal on being crowned champions of the English Premier League.
Arsenal was crowned champion of the English Premier League for the 2025-2026 season, one round before the end, for the first time in 22 years, benefiting from the stumble of its pursuers, Manchester City, which settled for a draw (1-1) with its host, Bournemouth, on Tuesday evening.

English football legends congratulate Arsenal
Alan Shearer, the former Newcastle and England star and one of the English Premier League’s all-time top scorers, wrote on his X account: “Congratulations to Arsenal… the best team is the one who won this season.”
Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman wrote: “Premier League champions, what a moment, what an epic season.”
Egyptian Mohamed Elneny, the current Emirati player for Al Jazira, wrote congratulations to his former team, Arsenal, as he said via X: “I cannot describe my feelings now. Football always rewards those who believe in it, to the fans who have not given up their faith, you deserve this. Arsenal, the club that will remain in my heart forever, you deserve this. The players and everyone who contributed to this achievement, you deserve this. Congratulations to the best club in the world.”
As for former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, he spoke about Arsenal winning the English Premier League title after 22 years in moving terms.
He said in statements on the TNT network: “This team, frankly, I feel great sympathy for them now. For many years, people have described them as weak, fragile, and hesitant. In every season the phrases were – maintain your humility -, show some determination, develop your strength, they are not qualified for decisive moments.”
City had failed to continue its pursuit of Arsenal until the last round, settling for a draw with its host Bournemouth in the thirty-seventh round match.
Frenchman Elie Junior scored the first goal for Bournemouth, the hosts, in the 39th minute.
Then Norwegian Erling Haaland equalized in the fifth minute of stoppage time in the second half.
This tie raised Manchester City’s score to 78 points, in second place, 4 points behind Arsenal, which won its first title since the 2003-2004 season.
As for Bournemouth, it raised its score to 56 points in sixth place, 3 points behind Liverpool, which is in fifth place, and qualifies for the Champions League.
