The emergency services in different parts of the country are now receiving equipment that better equips them for events of high alert and war.
The equipment the emergency services have is intended and designed for peacetime.
“During war or heightened preparedness, different requirements are placed on endurance, robustness and the ability to work under stress,” writes the Norwegian Civil Defense Authority (MCF) in a press release.
MCF is now handing out new so-called modules that will strengthen the rescue services in 25 locations in Sweden. They contain selected material that can be stored for a long time and quickly put into use.
This includes, among other things, equipment to secure rubble, stretchers, hand tools, pumps, ropes, medical supplies and warning signs for mines.
At the same time, staff training is ongoing.
