A man in his 20s was so seriously injured in Kristanstad that he died.
A witness caught the incident on film – which is now being shared.
– It could be criminal, says Fredrik Liljeroos, police area manager in Kristanstad.
On Saturday evening, a man in his 20s was injured by a sharp object in the city centre Kristianstad. The whole thing was caused by a fight and the man was taken to hospital by relatives.
But the man’s life could not be saved and he died from his injuries.
Three 25-year-old men were arrested on the night of Sunday and arrested shortly afterwards following a decision by the prosecutor. All are suspected of murder.
The background to the incident is currently unclear and the police are working to get a clearer picture.
– We need to create a picture during the day to see what impact this may have going forward or if it is an isolated incident, says Fredrik Liljeroos, local police area manager in Kristianstad.
The police work widely and say that they also take account of reprisals.
– Given the history and knowledge of murders that take place in this way, there is a risk of it, says Fredrik Liljeroos.
Could be criminal
At the same time, videos are being circulated in various forums that allegedly show the sequence of events and the murder. Fredrik Liljeroos says that he himself has not seen any films but is critical.
– It is extremely unfortunate. This is also the age we live in now. It can be positive that there is film documentation from a police perspective, it makes the investigation situation better. But it is extremely sad that it spreads, especially for survivors of crime victims.
Even in other murders, videos have been spread – something that could be criminal.
– It could be a crime, says Fredrik Liljeroos.
The police are now working to collect information and hold interviews with the suspects.
– It is a broad investigative work. We are working to retrieve camera footage from surveillance footage if it is available. We also hold interviews with as many as we can who may have knowledge and familiarity with the case, says Fredrik Liljeroos.
In connection with the incident on Saturday evening, Central Hospital Kristianstad decided that the emergency department would go into lockdown. It must have also gotten rowdy at the hospital, which had to lock the emergency room.
