The Christian Democrats are going to the polls to abolish the capital gains tax, or “moving tax”, next term.
– The unfair relocation tax affects many Swedes and creates major lock-in effects on the housing market, says KD leader Ebba Busch.
KD has previously launched a proposal which entails that the capital gains tax of 22 percent of the profit in housing transactions is reduced by 2 percentage points per year from the time the owner has owned the home for five years. After 16 years, the reductions would result in a capital gains tax of zero.
