Hezbollah’s military media in Lebanon broadcast scenes documenting the targeting of an Israeli army Merkava tank in the town of Qantara, southern Lebanon, using a assault march.
The party stated in a statement that this operation took place on April 27, that is, a week before the clip was published.

The importance of this clip is highlighted in that it documents for the first time the effects of the strike after the march collided with the Israeli vehicle, unlike previous times in which the party contented itself with documenting the last moments before the marches collided with the sites where soldiers were gathered and the vehicles were stationed.
Double tactic and firewall hacking
Field details of the video clip revealed the use of a double tactic; Two drones participated in the operation, the first was responsible for monitoring and documenting, while the second was responsible for hitting the tank.

The pictures clearly showed that the Israeli tank was equipped with an iron net designed to protect its tower from drone attacks. However, the attack drone succeeded in penetrating the protection wall and hitting the mechanism, which led to it igniting fire due to the combustion of the munitions on board.

Through the process of geographically determining the location, it was found that the targeting location was located in the vicinity of a sports stadium in the village of Qantara, affiliated to the Marjayoun District in the Nabatieh Governorate, southern Lebanon, according to the coordinates (33°16’18.0″N 35°27’17.9″E).

Echoes of the new tactic
In the context of the interactions, Haaretz newspaper reported disturbing details inside Israel. Journalist Avi Scharf pointed out that the new Hezbollah marches are immune to interference, and stressed that the buffer security zone will not be able to stop them because they have a long range, which allows them to be launched from areas located north of the Israeli army’s area of operations to reach the depth.
For his part, specialized Polish journalist Jarosław Kuczewski commented on the clip as representing evidence of the transfer of Ukraine’s war tactics to the Middle East.
He explained that a cheap drone succeeded in hitting one of the best-protected tanks in the world, while another drone conducted surveillance.
He added that this incident, which occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers inside Lebanon, makes the buffer zone that the Israeli army is trying to create futile, and pointed to the state of shock in Israel due to the delay in realizing the changes caused by the assault marches on the battlefield.
In the same context, researcher Chris Oike, who is interested in the tactics of the Russian-Ukrainian war, pointed out the complete correspondence between what Hezbollah is doing and what is happening in Ukraine.
He explained that the failure of the Israeli army to monitor the attack march or the surveillance plane reflects the failure of the electronic warfare systems completely, and concluded that Israel did not absorb the lessons of the Ukrainian war, while Hezbollah succeeded in applying them with great skill.
Military experts and former officials in the Israeli security services admitted that there was a state of confusion and randomness in the Israeli army’s use of drones equipped with fiber optics.
An Israeli military official told the Associated Press that these drones have become a relatively new threat during the latest round of fighting with Hezbollah.
