USM Alger and CS Belouizdad are looking forward to achieving a historic record when they face off tomorrow, Thursday, in the final of the Algerian Football Cup, in a repeat of last season.
This final is the seventh of its kind between the two teams, as USM Alger, which will play in this round for the 19th time, which is an unprecedented number, won the title in 1988, 2003, and 2025 at the expense of Belouizdad in the final.

On the other hand, CS Belouizdad, which reached the final for the 15th time in its history and the fifth in a row, won the cup in 1969, 1970, and 1978, after defeating USM Alger in the final.
Each team hopes to dissolve the partnership and win the tenth cup in its history, becoming the most successful club in the competition.
If the last three finals smiled at USM Alger, unlike the first three finals that were won by CS Belouizdad, then tomorrow’s final will be open to all possibilities and may cement the complex of the Union’s superiority or the return of control to CS.
A match of a revenge nature
Abdel Raouf Ben Guit, the leader of the Belouizdad Youth Club, did not hide the desire of the Belouizdad Youth Club to take revenge for last season’s final loss, stressing that everyone is ready to achieve the desired goal and avoid the specter of the zero season.
As for Salim Sabaa, the interim coach, he stressed the importance of the players focusing on everything big and small, pointing out that CS Belouizdad prepared for the match in all aspects and was able to regain the cup.
Difficult confrontation
For his part, Senegalese Lamine Ndiaye, coach of USM Algeria, gave great importance to the psychological and mental aspect, stressing that it will be a decisive factor in determining the identity of who will be crowned champion.
Despite the absence of the first team’s star, Houssam El Din Ghesha, who also appears to miss the African Confederation Cup final against Zamalek of Egypt, Ndiaye seemed confident in the ability of the rest of the players to rise to the challenge despite fatigue due to the intensity of the matches in the recent period.
Hussein Dhiri, the leader of the Algerian Federation, acknowledged the difficulty of the confrontation, which has a special flavor, stressing the necessity of giving everything to win against a competitor who overcame strong teams on his way to the final.
